2024年北京大学春季四周汉语研修项目招生简章

第一部分 项目介绍
北京大学春季四周汉语研修项目由北京大学国际合作部留学生办公室管理、北京大学对外汉语教育学院授课,面向全球招收热爱中文的国际学生。2024年北京大学春季四周汉语研修项目将开设为期4周的汉语课程,根据学生分班考试成绩分为初级、中级和高级汉语班(不设零起点班)。项目每天授课4学时,周学时为20学时,期满结业的学生将获颁北京大学成绩单和进修证书。
项目时间(上课时间):2024226日(周一)至2024322日(周五)
具体项目安排,以录取通知书及项目日程为准。
 
第二部分 申请资格及报名办法
申请资格
持有效外国护照的非中国籍公民;
年龄在1850岁之间(含1850岁);
身体健康;
高中毕业以上学历;
对华友好,无犯罪记录

注册账号
登录系统,选择“个人申请”
选择学习项目:非学位生
选择招生类别:短期
选择“短期”下的子菜单“春季四周汉语研修项目”
按照提示填写申请信息,完成后提交申请
第二步: 在线提交报名材料及在线汉语水平测试
1、报名材料:

护照个人信息页复印件,护照必须是在有效期内的普通护照;
最后学历证明或在学证明,须为中文或英文的复印件或公证件;
汉语水平证书或汉语学习证明(如有,请提供);
一封所在学校或单位的推荐信原件(中文或英文)

2、在线汉语水平测试

请按照以下说明完成在线汉语水平测试。

在线汉语水平测试有三种双语对照版本供选择:

请输入申请系统中的申请编号(202407****)来完成在线汉语水平测试。


第三步:审核和录取
申请者可通过系统查询申请状态。若被录取,请在系统显示“等待支付学费”后,在两周之内在线缴纳学费;北京大学也会向录取者发送邮件通知。
北京大学将向被录取者发放录取通知书和签证申请表。

 
第三部分 费用标准及支付方式
基本项目费用标准(人民币):
申请费:400/
支付方式: 接受现金、银联卡支付和在线支付,不接受其他币种或旅行支票。
备注:申请费不予退还,申请材料不全或未支付申请费,申请将不被受理。 
学费(含教材费):7,000/

活动费:1,000/
支付方式:在线支付。
退款规定:
如因个人原因无法按时参加项目,缴费者可向留学生办公室提出书面退款申请,获准后,北京大学将按以下方式退回学费:2024214日前申请退款,可退还学费的50%2024215日至2024225日之间申请退款,可退还学费的25%2024226日以后申请退款,学费不予退回。
备注:退款将原路径退还,,申请者需要自行负担退款产生的手续费。
 
第四部分 教学及活动安排
汉语教学安排
A. 上课时间:每周一至周五,每天4学时。
B. 汉语教学:
着重训练和提高学生运用汉语进行听说读写的能力。课程设置包括精读、口语两门必修课。项目授课语言为汉语。
C. 汉语编班:设有初级汉语班、中级汉语班和高级汉语班。学生入学后进行汉语水平测试,根据考试成绩分班,每班不超过20人。
成绩单与证书
项目结束后两周内,北京大学向期满结业的学生发放成绩单和进修证书。如果学生缺课超过该课程课时总数的四分之一,无法获得成绩单和证书。
成绩单每人一份,成绩采取百分制,附有课程总学时和学生的出勤情况。
课外实践
北京大学将为学生安排中国文化讲座(英文)、参观游览及中外学生交流联谊等学习实践活动。

第五部分 签证、保险、住宿及餐饮
签证
被录取的学生须持录取通知书和来华学习签证申请表(JW202)到当地中国使馆申请来华的学习签证,确保在华期间持有有效签证。 
保险
项目在学期间,学生须购买国际旅行保险(在中国境内有效),并在报到注册时提供相关保险证明。学生也可于报到注册日当天购买由中国平安提供的保险。对于没有购买保险者,学校将不予办理注册手续。
住宿及餐饮
2023年春季四周汉语研修项目的学生,均需自行解决留学期间的住宿。
报到时须提交住所的详细地址及电话,请同学们提前做好准备。

租住校外房屋的同学,必须在24小时之内到当地的公安机关办理登记手续。
北京大学为项目学生提供校园卡,校园卡可用于校内食堂就餐及使用图书馆等相关设施。

PKU Spring Four-week Chinese Language Studies Program

 
Introduction
The PKU Four-week Chinese Language Program is organized and administered by the International Students Division, and taught in the School of Chinese as a Second Language. Upon completion of the program, students who meet the assessment criteria will be issued with a certificate and transcript from Peking University. Students will be divided into 3 levels—elementary, intermediate, and advanced (Please note there is no beginners’ course). There will be four hours of teaching each day, making a total of twenty hours per week.
 
Duration
Four weeks: February 26, 2024 (Monday) – March 22, 2024 (Friday)

The exact dates for the programs will be confirmed in the admission letter.
 
Application Requirements and Admission Process
Requirements:
Non-Chinese citizen;                                                      
Aged between 18 and 50 (inclusive);
In good health;
High school diploma or above;
No criminal record.
 
Application Period:
November 15, 2023 to January 30, 2024.
 
Admissions Process:
Step 1: Online application

Sign in and click on “online application” ⇒
Select the application type: ‘Non-Degree Programs Application’ ⇒
Select the type of program: ‘Short-term Program (ST)’ ⇒
Select “Spring Four-week Chinese Language Studies Program” under “Short-term program” ⇒
Fill in the online application form and submit it.
Step 2: Submit e-documents and finish the Chinese self-assessment online.
The following documents are required:
Photocopy of your passport information page
Certificate of your highest academic qualification (copy) or Certificate of Enrolment of your current educational institution (original)
HSK Certificate or official transcripts of full-time Mandarin studies (if applicable)
Recommendation letter in either Chinese or English.
All documents must be in either Chinese or English. 

The applicants need to finish the on-line Chinese level self-assessment according to the below instructions.

Step 3: Review and admission
Applicants can check the status of their application online by logging into the application system.
Successful applicants should pay the tuition fee online when the online status reads “pay the tuition”. The tuition fee should be paid within 2 weeks. Successful applicants will also receive notice of their admission from Peking University via email.
The admission letter and visa application form will be dispatched to the admitted students once the tuition fees have been paid online.
 
Fees & Payment:
Application fee (non-refundable): RMB 400
Tuition fee (including cost of textbooks): RMB 7,000

Activity fee : RMB 1,000
Payment method: online payment

Refunds Policy:

Any student who wishes to withdraw from the program must submit a written request.

Withdrawals are eligible for a partial refund in line with the following guidelines:

On or before February 14, 2024: 50% refund of tuition fees

February 15– February 25, 2024: 25% refund of tuition fees

On February 26,2024 or later: no refund 

Note: The refund will be processed via the original route, and the applicant needs to bear the commission charge by himself.

  
Program Details:
Class hours: Monday to Friday, four hours per day (twenty hours per week).
Mandarin course: All courses aim to improve students’ proficiency in Mandarin Chinese and are taught in Chinese. The compulsory courses are Intensive Reading and Spoken Chinese. 

Class arrangements:

Classes will be divided into 3 levels—elementary, intermediate, and advanced. There will be no more than twenty students in each class.
Transcript and Certificate: Upon completion of the language course, students who meet the assessment criteria will be issued with a certificate and a transcript.
 
Extracurricular Activities: To enhance the students’ experience of China, PKU will arrange several visits to well-known scenic spots in Beijing, as well as student exchange activities, and lectures about Chinese culture (in English and Japanese).
 
Visa, Insurance and Accommodation
Visa Application
Successful applicants should apply for a student visa via their local Chinese embassy or consulate by providing their ordinary passport, admission notice, visa application form and other required documents. Information about the required documents can be found online.
 Insurance
All international students are required to have insurance, which should include, at least accident insurance and medical insurance. You can use insurance bought in your home country or purchase insurance in China after your arrival. Detailed information about international student insurance provided by Ping An can be found at http://www.lxbx.net/admissions.html. Students should submit insurance certificates (in Chinese or English), issued by the relevant insurance authorities or notary organizations. Failure to purchase insurance or provide the aforementioned documents will result in the cancellation of your registration.
Accommodation 
Accommodation is not arranged by the PKU Spring Four-week Chinese Language Studies Program and is not included in the tuition fee. Accommodation should be arranged by the student. This allows participants to arrange accommodation that suits their personal requirements and budget.
N.B. Students who live off campus must register at the local police station within 24 hours of their arrival.


Students will receive a PKU student ID card upon registration. This can be used to purchase food on campus.
