Established by the China Scholarship Council (“CSC”), the China Link Scholarship Program is to support international students and faculty conducting academic and research activities in China. It aims to deepen the academic friendship and mutual learning between the youth of China and other countries, serving as a platform for international exchange and cooperation.
I. General Information
1. Funding Categories:
General Visiting Students: for CSC foreign partner university currently enrolled undergraduate and master students.
Senior Visiting Students: for CSC foreign partner university currently enrolled Ph.D. students and faculty members.
2. Funding Duration: 1-12 months
3. Working Language: English or Chinese, depending on the disciplines offered by Peking University.
4. Study/Research Fields: All disciplines except study of the Chinese language.
II. Scope of the Funding
This is a full Chinese Government Scholarship funding recipients’ study while in China, including a tuition waiver, free on-campus accommodation, comprehensive medical insurance and a monthly stipend. The stipend will be provided according to the scale of the Chinese Government Scholarship.
III. Eligibility
1. Non-Chinese citizens, with excellent academic record, in good physical and mental health, and friendly towards China.
2. Age requirement for the General Visiting Students should be under 45 years old, and under 50 years old for Senior Visiting Students.
3. At the time of the application and for the duration of the program, applicants must be full-time students or faculty members at a foreign partner university of the CSC. See Appendix I for the list of foreign partner universities.
4. Have received the admission notice issued by Peking University visiting student program (either the pre-admission email or the admission letter is acceptable).
IV. Application Procedures
1. Applicants log onto Peking University International Student Service System(http://www.studyatpku.com) to complete the application for the visiting student program. For detailed instructions, please refer to the notification for general visiting student applications (https://isd.pku.edu.cn/en/further_detail.php?tag=general_visiting_program) and the notification for senior visiting student applications (https://isd.pku.edu.cn/en/detail.php?id=536). If the application is for departmental research program, please contact the intended supervisor first to obtain the acceptance letter from the intended supervisor and the corresponding department. The application for departmental research program is open throughout the year. Applicants should complete the application at least 4 months before the start of the study.
2. After receiving the admission notice (the pre-admission email or admission letter) for visiting student program, applicants log onto the Chinese Government Scholarship Information System( https://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn/#/login) to complete the online application and upload the admission notice and other relevant materials. After completing the scholarship application, applicants download the "Chinese Government Scholarship Application Form" and send it as an attachment to ischolarship@pku.edu.cn, with the subject: Application for China Link Scholarship Program. Scholarship application portal opens to applicants all year round. Please complete scholarship application at least 2 months before the start of study.The institution code of Peking University is 10001. See Appendix 2 for the online application guide.
3. Applications will be processed by Peking University.
4. Peking University nominates scholarship candidates to CSC.
5. CSC sends scholarship award results to Peking University.
6. Peking University will notify applicants of the scholarship award results.
