Summer Camp for PKU International Alumni Children

The Office of International Relations of Peking University (PKU), in collaboration with PKU International Alumni Association, is pleased to host the Summer Camp for PKU International Alumni Children (hereafter as the Camp) in July 2018. The Camp will be open to the children of PKU international alumni around the world with a view to boosting the ties between PKU and her alumni.
The Camp offers the children of PKU international alumni the opportunity to experience PKU campus life while learning about China’s rich history and culture. The well-thought program combines rigorous learning with social experience, aiming to help students grow intellectually and personally.

  • Non-Chinese aged 15 to 20
  • PKU international alumni children
  • Fluent in English
  • No criminal record
  • In good health
Deadline
The deadline for submitting an application is May 31, 2018. Applicants will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Application & Admission
Step 1: how to enroll
  • Create an account at http://www.studyatpku.com
  • Log in and click online application
  • Select program: Non-Degree Programs –> Short-term Program –> Summer Camp for PKU International Alumni Children
  • Fill out and submit your application (together with e-documents). Following documents are needed:
  1. Photocopy of passport information page
  2. Photocopy of highest diploma obtained
  3. Photocopy of parent’s PKU diploma
Step 2: Review and admission
Applicants will be able to check their application status online. Successful applicants are required to pay the fees when the status shows pay the tuition. The fees shall be paid within 2 weeks after receiving the confirmation letter from Peking University. Admission Notification and Visa Application Form will be sent to the admitted student after the payment is completed.
Fees
Application fee (non-refundable): RMB 400
Tuition: RMB 8000
Withdrawals are eligible for a partial refund in line with the following guidelines:
  • Before June 1, 2018: 50% refund of tuition
  • Between June 1-June 30, 2018: 25% refund of tuition
  • No refund possible after July 1
Note: refunds will be transferred back to the original payment account. Any fees incurred during the transaction shall be borne by the applicant.
Others
Visa Application
Successful applicants should apply for a study visa (X2) via the local Chinese embassy or consulate by providing their ordinary passport, Admission NotificationVisa Application Form, and other documents required by the authorities. Detailed information is available online.
Insurance
Students must be insured (medical and accident insurance at minimum) when studying in China according to the regulations of China’s Ministry of Education. International students are required to purchase the Comprehensive Insurance Plan for Foreign Students, which is offered by the Ping An Annuity Insurance Company of China. Please note that students without valid medical insurance are not allowed to register. Students may purchase the medical insurance online (http://www.lxbx.net) 15 days before the day of registration.

Students will receive a PKU student ID card upon registration, which can be used to purchase food in on-campus canteens and many other stores and eateries.
