Alumni Card

Dear Alumni,
The Alumni Association of Peking University would like to thank you for your continuous contribution and support to your alma mater over the years by creating an alumni card for you all. With this card, you will be able to enter the university campus and use library resources. This is the first step in our efforts to provide and develop all kinds of services for our alumni and friends. As we continue our development work, we look forward to offering more varied and convenient services for you all.
 
1.  Alumni Card Uses
 
1)  Identification to enter and exit the campus
2)  Identification to enter and exit the library during off-peak times. The card allows you to read and use standard library resources within the library building (not including fee-paying services, such as using premium resources, CD referencing etc.). In order to ensure that current students are able to revise, the library will not be open to alumni and friends of the university during exam periods at the end of each term. For a detailed timetable, please refer to the noticeboard at the main entrance of the library.
3) Free admission to the Museum of Peking University History and the Arthur M. Sackler Museum of Art and Archaeology at Peking University
4)  Discounted fees for the use of sports facilities.
5) Discounts for purchases at the souvenir department of the Peking University, the Museum of Peking University History souvenir store, and the souvenir department of the Boshi Supermarket
6)  Membership benefits when purchasing books from the readers services department of the Peking University Press (Peking University bookstore)
7)  The card is only authorised to be used by the named holder; lending the card to others is not  permitted
 
2.  Alumni Card Application Times
 
1)  There are two peak time periods during each academic year in which we process large numbers of applications for the alumni card: -
I.  During Peking University’s anniversary period, we process applications for alumni returning to the university for celebrations 
II. We process alumni card applications for all graduating students during the period before graduation
2)  Working hours for processing applications are as follows: -
I.  Working days: 8:30 am – 11:30 am and 1:30 pm – 4:30 pm (not including weekends and national holidays)
II. Please apply through your graduating class, graduating year or the Alumni & Friends Association as your representative; or simply apply as an individual 
3) We do not process applications during the winter and summer vacation period
 
3.  Alumni Card Application Fee
 
RMB 50 Yuan per card.
 
4.  Alumni Card Application Methods
 
1)  Apply In Person
 I.   Please download the ‘Electronic Acknowledgement of Receipt Form’ below. Please complete the form accordingly and send it as an attachment to this email address: internationalalumni@pku.edu.cn; alternatively, you can download, print and manually fill in the ‘Hand-written Acknowledgement of Receipt Form’
 II.  Please prepare a one-inch or two-inch ID photo (colour or black and white both acceptable), and print clearly your full name, date of matriculation, and department/faculty on the back
III.  When applying, please present a valid identification document to prove your alumni status (e.g. graduation certificate, degree certificate etc.), and submit the acknowledgement of receipt form, photo and application fee to a member of staff
 IV.After your alumni card has been completed, we will notify you. If you are unable to collect the card in person, please state this clearly in the acknowledgement of receipt form. We will post the card to you via tracked mail service.
2)  Apply Via Post
I.   Please download the ‘Electronic Acknowledgement of Receipt Form’ below. Please complete the form accordingly and send it as an attachment to this email address: internationalalumni@pku.edu.cn; alternatively, you can download, print and manually fill in the ‘Hand-written Acknowledgement of Receipt Form’
II.  Please prepare a one-inch or two-inch ID photo (colour or black and white both acceptable), and write clearly your full name, date of matriculation, and department/faculty on the back
III. Please send the acknowledgement of receipt form, photo and a photocopy of your graduation certificate or degree certificate (as proof of alumni status) to the Office of Peking University Alumni & Friends Association (address: Room 517, Sciences Building No. 5, Peking University, 100871). The application fee can be sent as a postal remittance to the same above address; please include a note clearly stating that you are applying for an alumni card
IV. If you have not specified that you wish to collect the card in person, we will post the card to you via tracked mail service. Please make sure to write clearly your registered address and postcode when sending us your application
3) Apply Online
I.  Please download the ‘Electronic Acknowledgement of Receipt Form’, and complete the form accordingly
II. Please prepare a relatively high-resolution ID photo in electronic format (one-inch or two-inch; colour or black and white both acceptable); please upload the photo as a jpg. file, and name the file as [your full name]
III.Please scan and upload a valid identification document to prove your alumni status (e.g. graduation certificate, degree certificate etc.); the file can be saved as [your full name] + [name of document]
IV.Please attach all of the above documents and materials to an email and send it to internationalalumni@pku.edu.cn . The application fee can be paid online via the alumni and friends website; please include a message clearly stating that you are applying for an alumni card
V. If you have not specified that you wish to collect the card in person, we will post the card to you via tracked mail service. Please make sure to write clearly your registered address and postcode when sending us your application
 
5. Form Downloads and Guidance

Guidance for completing the form: -
I. Please fill in your date of birth, date of matriculation and date of graduation according to the format provided in the form
II. Please list your education qualifications in the following order: 1. undergraduate bachelor’s degree; 2. postgraduate master’s degree; 3. postgraduate doctorate degree; 4. other (postdoctoral studies, visiting scholar, further advanced studies etc.)
